The upside of a down market is a boon to artists. Ten dramatic sculptures now fill an empty retail space. GRACE transformed a cavernous 12,000 square-foot storefront into a temporary "pop-up" exhibition featuring four accomplished sculptors. Mary Howard, GRACE Board member and sculptor, curated POP-UP@SOMA in collaboration with the Washington Sculptors Group. Works in the exhibition include six suspended mixed-media works by Connie Fleres, Lincoln Mudd's iron and copper Rocker and his wood and iron Jut, Mike Shaffer's ten-foot, bright-green tower The Way To Be, and Millicent Young's ceramic, wood, and animal hair Bobbin with Prayer Beads. View the sculptures through the windows at the corner of Market and Explorer Streets in Reston Town Center. All works are for sale. Interested collectors should call GRACE at 703.471.9242.
Space provided by Boston Properties.
