HOW TO REGISTER

Since many of our education programs are supported by the Reston Community Center, we use their registration system. It’s easy to register! Just follow these steps:

1. To register please visit Reston Community Center.
2. Click on Register for Classes & Activities.
3. Scroll down to find the Visual Arts category.
4. Scroll down to find class, click on the shopping cart icon and “add to cart”.
5. Follow prompts to complete registration.

Meditation Workshop: Contemplating Creativity
March 7, 7–8:30
Email info@restonarts.org to register. Ages 13 and up. Free for members of the Greater Reston Arts Center. $5 donation for non-members.

GRACE Family Day

Free and open to the public.
Greater Reston Arts Center opens its doors to celebrate Youth Art Month for a with free day of family art making and exploration in the gallery.  The gallery will feature student artwork from the Emerging Visions program! In its pilot year, the Emerging Visions program worked directly with 8 FCPS schools at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Students gathered inspiration from the fall GRACE exhibition, Green is the Secret Color to Make Gold, featuring work by DC artist Caitlin Teal Price. Come celebrate each student’s creative ingenuity and make some artwork of your own! All ages. Sponsored by Reston Community Center.

Mother’s Day Workshop
May 11, 9:30–11 am
Let’s all show our caregivers some appreciation! Join us to create everlasting flower crowns and one-of-a-kind works of art celebrating love. Bring along a family photo for a bonus activity! All ages. Sponsored by Reston Community Center. Price and registration TBA.

Artist-led Workshop: Stop-motion Animation Workshop
June 15, 13 pm
In this workshop, exhibiting artist Stephanie J. Williams will lead participants through the process of creating simple, posable puppets for use in a collaborative animated short film. Workshops participants will explore a variety of media including clay, wire and cut paper, and experiment with both rotoscope and stop motion animation techniques. All materials included. Ages 8 and up. Sponsored by Reston Community Center. Price and registration TBA.
