Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE) is partnering with Reston Association (RA) to offer exciting art camps this summer. The sessions are designed to provide direct learning experiences centered on the visual arts. The focus is on many aspects of art-making, encouraging children to expand their artistic vocabulary and creativity through hands-on art activities taught by professional art educators. Children experience exciting themes exploring the visual arts in tandem with science, art history, and even some yoga. Conveniently located at the Lake House, 11450 Baron Cameron Ave in Reston, VA.

Registration opens January 28 for RA members and GRACE members and February 4 for non-members.

Camp highlights include:

  • Innovative new projects during each session
  • Experience exciting themes exploring the visual arts in tandem with science, art history, and yoga

My Mom Would Never Let Me Do That!
Explore the possibilities of art! Using a variety of materials, this session combines innovative discovery through scientific exploration and the creative process to create the messiest and silliest of art projects. Come make art at camp that your parents would never let you do in the house!

Fun-Tastic Forts!
In this camp, kids investigate all things 3-D! From blankets to boxes, we cover the basics of building the best forts ever! Campers will spend their days creating new spaces to explore and will come away with a basic understanding of engineering, and a fort of their own to take home! Camp also includes exciting group games, outdoor exploration, and a chance to experiment with a wide variety of sculpting materials!

Art & Movement
Who says art-making has to be stationary? This camp session focuses on all the ways art can get you moving and features 2-D and 3-D projects, which will utilize movement and art-making in innovative ways. In partnership with Beloved Yoga, campers will enhance their action art with yoga each day.
